Normally I don't read many vampire novels because they usually make me cringe with disbelief. But this book offers a strangely realistic take on vampire fiction. The author's imagination produces creatures so believable and, ahem, lovable (well, to a point) that I could only sympathize with her well-meaning characters. The writing is competent with plenty of imagery - if this indeed is the first book in a series, I'll be looking forward to a sequel.
