The Architect Key eBook Edward Evans Reviews

A time-traveling architect, visits ancient Greece, Rome and Egypt, meets Gods and Goddesses as the past and present collide. Leo Katsaros finds working in his father-in-law’s architectural firm uninspiring and boring. He dreams of creating a new style of architecture based on some of the Mayan designs he loves. He is beckoned to the estate of a wealthy woman and offered a chance to fulfill his dreams. The offer comes with a lot of unexplained consequences including time travels to ancient times. I always enjoy books about time travel and enjoyed reading about this trip into history. It was a fun read and kept me interested to the end.
The ultimate journey of self discovery! The opening of family bickering made it slightly hard for me to get interested, yet I'm so glad I kept reading. The concept of time travel into history with mythological gods has more potential then you can imagine. The writing is effortless and very easy to read. Anyone that enjoys an epic time travel story will truly enjoy this book, which for the record is not my favorite genre. I was able to give a non favorite genre 5 starts due to the creativity of the plot being different from other fantasy novels. For me, bringing the historical past mixed into total fantasy made it a page turner. Highly recommend this easy read!
So like other reviewers, I didn't quite know if I was going to be into this book or not. But I read because I love reading historical novels and I love reading fantasy novels and this book is a mix of both. I loved how the author drew us in by telling us about Leo's family and then taking him back in time to some incredible places and getting to see things like olympian gods and how famous places were built. That, and Leo gets to know all about his family through his travels and why he is the person he is today. It's seriously a page turner, I couldn't put this book down. This author is simply going to grab your attention and keep it from the first page to the last. Very well done. I truly hope this author writes many many more books! I'd read them all!
This was a fun read! It was not exactly what I expected, but that is a good thing. A time traveling Architect, soounded alright, but the details made all the difference. Gods and Goddesses, architects and history, went quite well together, in this story. The beginning was a bit boring, with squabbling family over money basically. Everyone wants to be famous, and will do what ever it takes to get it. All normal so far, besides who hasn't fantasized about strangling their "brother". That, is when it stars to get good. The author adds some interesting connections and transformations to the main character. I liked how the author gets to the nitty gritty of "time travel". This story had some new twists to time travel that I really liked. It was worth reading for sure.
As many others have said, this book can take a bit to get into. Keep up with it, it definitely gets better. The time travel aspect is by far the best part of the book, and really gives the character (Leo) life. The writing is good, but there’s a bit more of telling (over showing) than I’d like in the start. Once Evans gets into the story, though, it gets better and less of an issue. The mythology, time travel, and character’s will to find something better fuel this story. My only gripe is that though the main character and direct support are built very well, a lot of the characters outside of that bubble seem to share a similar personality which kind of withdrew me. Still very much worth your time and read, this author is someone to keep an eye on.
I was given this book for free to read and review. This book was so different then what I was expecting. It ended up being so much more than just a story about a time traveling architect it was actually a story about families. We all have them and we all have issues with them even the gods; well especially the gods. I think that is truly what my take away from this quaint tale was that no matter what as crazy as they are family is family and you have to deal with them. You can run around through time trying to avoid each other but eventually you realize you're still family. I really enjoyed this tale with its jumps in time and meetings with amazing people and seeing ancient structures in their prime. I just fell right into the pages and was taken away while I read and smiled the whole time. I hope to read more from this author because his writing really spoke to me. I definitely recommend this book.
I always give a book 50 pages before I begin to develop my judgments of it. When I began The Architect's Key, I was a little put back by all of the bickering amongst the characters. However, I was captivated by the skillful writing of the author, Edward E. Evans. He made me want to continue reading almost purely by how his words flowed on the page. It was easy to fall in to the rhythm of reading this book and before I knew it, I was done and craving more. The Architect's Key is a lovely combination of adventure and education, in my opinion. I love a good fictional book that provides me knowledge on the world around me while entertaining me with a good story. The Architect's Key was just that! I would highly recommend it!
A great read. A fun adventure through San Diego and history.
